You Were Justified

And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. (1Cor. 6:11)
All of us have a past, but the past does not have us! When we turn our lives over to Jesus, we are washed in the Blood of the Lamb, our garments are spotless and they are white as snow. When the devil accuses you, which is one of his titles as the accuser of the brethren, you just remind him that you have been sanctified by Jesus’ Blood and by what He did for us on the cross. There never need be more a day when the accusations thrown at you move you in any way except to remind you of such a great salvation given to us by our Lord.

Something that I encounter often with others and myself is that even though we were washed clean and sanctified, there are still wounds in our soul from the past. Being wounded does not disqualify you from being used by God. As we walk with the Lord, healing comes as He sees fit. Some of us are healed quickly, some of us over a period of time. Healing is different for everyone as the wounds we have encountered are different. Some are very deep, some are shallow.

During your healing process, believe God, serve Him, love Him, reach out to others and thank Him for your total healing. Call those things that are not as though they were. Always keep in mind that your history does not determine your destiny! Your weakness does not put you on the sidelines. God can mightily use those who are greatly imperfect. Throughout God’s word we see that He hardly called the qualified, but rather, He qualified the called! Sometimes we have to remember that King David murdered and struggled with sexual sin, Moses was a murderer, Solomon worshipped other gods, Peter denied Jesus 3 times, Rahab was a prostitute and she lied and yet she was a relative to Jesus Himself.

The things you struggle with will speak to you and tell you that God is done with you, yet all the while God’s Spirit points you to the Cross and the Blood of Jesus to remind you of the great forgiveness that has been extended to you and me.

God does not do things the way we think He should. He uses different methods, different people and different timing. Rest in Him and know that through your walk of healing and deliverance, you are being used by Him at all times to glorify His Son, our Brother, Jesus.

Rejoice in the truth that you were justified!
