And they thirsted not when He led them through the deserts, He caused the waters to flow out of the rock for them, He clave the rock also and the waters gushed out. (Isaiah 48:21)
When you find yourself in a desert place and it is God who brought you there, you can know that He will cause your provision to flow freely. When our steps are ordered by God and we submit to His guidance, He causes water to flow out of a rock and provision to flow freely. Where God guides, He provides. If you are walking in a dry place and you know the Lord has you where you are, then do not fear, He will provide all you need. His love for you and His care is promised and true. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path.
In this verse in Isaiah where it says, “He clave the Rock”, he was speaking of Jesus, the Rock of our salvation. Jesus was clave on the Cross and Blood and water gushed out symbolizing the birth of the family of God. This Old Testament scripture was a foreshadow of what was to come with Jesus! When we lean on, trust in, cleave to and depend on Jesus our Rock, we will never thirst or need because His broken body supplied everything we need in this life and the life to come!
All of us have mountains that we can see on the horizon and at times we worry and show deep concern about how we are going to climb those mountains in our lives. How will I be able to send my children to good schools? How will I pay off the mortgage on my house? How will I make it through when that bill is due? How will I make it through this medical diagnosis that the doctor has given me? How will I get through this crisis that has struck me? The questioning is endless, but the answer is ever the same. Jesus is walking with you through all your circumstances. He promised never to leave you nor forsake you. He has given His angels charge over you to keep you in all your ways. He has given us all precious promises that will comfort and guide us through this life and when this life is over, we have eternity with Him.
The cares and worries of this world seek to strangle, choke and defeat us. The only way they can do that is if we focus on them. We need to focus on the bigness of our God, not the bigness of our situation. Rise up to your heavenly seat with Christ Jesus. The higher you rise, the smaller your issues become!
Every knee will bow, every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord. Every situation, every problem, every disease, every sickness, every addiction, every mountain must bow its knee to the majesty and splendor of Christ Jesus the King of kings. Whatever your desolate place may be, if God has you there then do not worry because weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.
Where God guides you, He will also send provision and supply!
