We Have A Friend

Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. (Eccles.4:9)

We are friends of God. Jesus said that no greater gift than this, that a man lay down his life for his friend. Jesus did this for us and He tells us He is always with us. He will never leave us nor forsake us, He is the friend that sticks closer than a brother. Indeed two are better than one and our constant companion is Jesus.

I know that most of us can identify with feelings of loneliness at times in this life, as if no one understands us or knows what we go through. Those feelings may be fact, but not truth. When I was homeless and addicted to drugs, I literally had no one. No family, no friends and I felt as if God had left me as well. Those were valid facts but they weren’t truth because God was up to something when I was down and out. Many times God needs to bring us to a point of desperation in order for us to reach out to Him all the more. That is exactly what happened to me. When I was at my lowest, He saw my best.

In your daily routine this day, acknowledge Jesus as your Friend. Talk to Him and tell Him how much you love and appreciate Him. Jesus is a person who has emotions as well and He loves when He hears the voice of His redeemed speak of the love they have for Him. Tell of His greatness and share with Him your strengths and weaknesses. Yes, He already knows everything but He loves when you share with Him just out of conversation. He is so in love with you, share that love back with Him. He is the best Friend ever!
