For He put on righteousness as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation upon His head. (Isaiah 59:17)
God always gives us His very best. That which is His own. The scripture tells us that Jesus put on His armor and He gives us the same armor to put on ourselves so that we are equipped through Him to fight the enemy. We are now self sufficient in Christ Jesus’ sufficiency. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. Spiritual warfare is a requirement in God’s army, not an option. He always supplies His soldiers with what they need. We are equipped for the battle.
Spiritual Warfare is a part of a Believer’s life yet so many are not aware or even know what spiritual warfare is. As in natural warfare there are weapons, tactics, armies, battle fields, territories and victories. We must also realize that there are also casualties as well. Many warriors have paid prices for the freedom we walk in today, the ultimate price was paid for us by one Man, Jesus. He was the greatest casualty that gave His life using the weapon of love to purchase us back to the Father.
We need to stand on the foundation of what Jesus has done for us and fight the enemy of our souls till we have no more breath. The weapons of our warfare are not carnal such as guns, tanks and bombs, but they are mighty through God for the pulling down of strongholds. Our weapons include love, truth, the Blood of Jesus, our testimony and God’s Word.
One of the ways that Satan tries to bring destruction is in his relentless personality. He relentlessly attacks the mind, will and emotions of humankind. God gives us so many scriptures pertaining to the mind in His Word. He tells us to guard our mind. He tells us to keep our mind or our thoughts on Him for peace. He tells us that our mind needs renewal through Him. He tells us to think on whatever is pure and right and lovely. There are over 20 different verses in the Bible regarding our mind because where the mind leads, the body follows. Who better to know us than our Creator? Every day of our lives is a battle for the mind. We have the world, demons and our human nature fighting against the mind of the Spirit within us. The proof of this is in Romans 8:6 which says,”The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.”
With this understanding that we have through God’s Word, we must daily, sometimes even minute by minute capture the thoughts that are at enmity with God and think what He thinks so that we can do what He does!
Fight on soldier for your victory has already been purchased by the Warrior of all warriors, Jesus!
