“Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.” (Luke7:47)
When you have been forgiven for a generation of sin and rebellion, and been healed of many diseases and disorders. When you have been granted life when death was deserved, when you have been told the price has been paid, you’re level of love toward the One who bought you back is huge. Our Redeemer is Jesus.
To look back at this point and see where we have all come from is amazing. To think that at our lowest, Jesus was preparing us for great love, for it is redemption from the deepest sin that makes us love all the more. Where there was so much shame, there is now double honor. Where there was sickness and the curse, there is divine health and blessings. Where there was death, there is now life and no one can take this away.
Give thanks with a grateful heart for we have been forgiven much. Repentance opens the flood gate of blessings into our lives. In the book of Romans 11:32, it tells us that we have been turned over to disobedience in order that God could display His mercy towards us. Jesus chose to come to earth and take upon His back our penalty and payment for our sins, trespasses and transgressions so that He would display His great love for us. In that display of love, we love Him back as we recognize how much we have been forgiven.
The reason why forgiving others is so important to the Father is because of the great price His Son paid for the forgiveness of our sins. When we choose not to forgive others, we place ourselves away from the covering of God’s protection and blessing. We become targets for the enemy. Keep yourself safe and walk in forgiveness and in love. God wants the best for us and He has provided all that we need. It comes down to our choice. Let today’s choice be forgiveness and walk in freedom!
