God is our refuge and God is our strength. He is a very present help in trouble. (Psalm 46:1)
God is the One we run to for a hiding place. As His children, all our strength comes from Him. This is so comforting to know because our own strength will fail, but God’s will never fail. He is always there for us, even when we mess up and walk out of line. Jesus will never leave us nor forsake us and God is not like man that He should lie. His arm is not too short that it can’t reach us. He cares for us, so we can cast all our cares upon Him.
How freeing to know and believe, that in this time of darkness in the world that God is our very present help in trouble! Fear is trying to grip God’s people and is succeeding with the world, but we are to be the light in a world that seems hopeless. Remember, a light shines brightest in darkness. Knowing God as our refuge does not mean we are immune to attacks from the enemy. It does however give us the beauty of being in His hands during that time of trouble, and in knowing that we are in His hands, we are comforted because God is in control. Many of the attacks I have suffered through were actually training schools of learning for myself to bring power, freedom and endurance to myself and others. We don’t learn the most in the classroom, we learn the most on the frontline of battle. It is on the frontline that we can experience God being our refuge at its greatest. It is in trouble that we realize His presence as our very present help!
Run to Him in your time of trouble and experience peace in the midst of the storm, comfort during times of pain, and joy when grief is near by. He surely is our refuge.
Blessing to you!
