And He said,”Let Me go for the day breaks.” But he said, “I will not let You go unless You bless me.” (Genesis 32:26)
Jacob was wrestling with God Himself and it finally reached morning and God told Jacob to let Him go. If you notice it was morning when Jacob was clinging to God because he wrestled Him all night long and was out of energy. Do you ever feel like you are out of energy in praying for a healing or a miraculous turnaround? Well you can stop wrestling with God but don’t let Him go! Don’t insist on what God must do for you but in turn submit to His will and cling to Him.
It is not the hours of prayer that God looks at, He looks at the state of your heart. No matter what the outcome looks like, hold on to God and don’t let go. Be persistent in your love for Him, not in telling Him what He owes you. Having done all to stand, then stand.
Before you ask God for anything, first give Him thanks for all He has done and for who He is. He has your best interest at heart and He loves you. He will take care of you but you must die to self and be willing to give up anything that is dear to you. Abraham was asked to sacrifice his only son and when God saw that he would be obedient, God gave his son back to him. What God desires is your love not your possessions. He wants to be first in your heart.
When we come to Jesus there are many things that need to be sacrificed on the altar such as addictions, lust, greed, selfishness, pride, arrogance, sinful lifestyles, bitterness and control to mention some. Other things that need to be sacrificed may not seem to be any kind of sin but God requires them anyway only to return to you something greater and in greater measure. He knows what He is doing and it is up to us to trust Him and His ways.
Allow God to be number one and don’t let Him go until He blesses you!
