How precious is Your lovingkindess, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings. (Psalm 36:7)
God’s lovingkindness is better than life and it is so precious. As we think of all the Lord has done for us, we realize more and more how precious His lovingkindness is towards us. When we realize how much God has done for us it causes us to fearlessly put our trust under the shadow of His wings. Under those wings is also healing and peace that goes beyond all understanding. Think about how God has loved and blessed you today and put your trust in Him. He so loves when His children love and trust Him for everything.
The association of being under His wings also has to do with prayer. Jewish men would pray to God with a prayer shawl over their heads. That shawl symbolized being under God’s wings which is being in the secret place of the Most High. This is why the scriptures say that the Sun of Righteousness would come with healing in His wings. We no longer need to wear certain priestly garments to be holy. Jesus is our garment and it is in Him that we take refuge. It is still our part to be in relationship with God through our prayer life. Prayer does not need to be a set time or for an alotted duration. It just needs to be communicating with God about everything at all times. I have learned to think on God, speak to Him and include Him in all that I do at all times.
He is waiting for you to make Him a part of everything that you do. When God’s word says to pray without ceasing, it means to talk to God about everything and inquire of the Lord for His wisdom. Apart from Him we can do nothing, but we can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens us. Seek Him while He may be found. Spend time with Him for He so deeply wants to speak with you and comfort you. Put your full trust under the shadow of His wings!
