For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things which you wish. (Galatians 5:17)
We can not win this battle between Spirit and flesh by your own strength, there is no way. Our own “self” will take us so far, but it is through our God that we shall do valiantly! We are to be dependent on God. Self dependence will always lead to failure.
Even today in the evidence of despair that our country is going through, more and more we are realizing that we need a return to God and His principles to make America great again. Most of all we need to humble ourselves as the church and repent from our wicked ways so that God will hear us from heaven and heal our land that so badly needs Him. We have went astray and become a nation that accepts all sexual sin and places money and lust above God. We need to seek Him while He may be found, we need to call out to Him and He will show us great and mighty things that we know not of.
The answers for America are in Christ Jesus and He will reveal what needs to be done if we humble ourselves before Him. In our country we are seeing the flesh war against the Spirit. We say we are free as a people but as a country we are in bondage to sin. So then, are we truly free or truly deceived? Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom. When we start to see freedoms removed little by little, then we know God’s Spirit is being pushed out little by little. We have pushed Him out by our decisions to accept what is evil and not implement what is good.
We are a democracy and a democracy places in law what the people say is right and good. The enemy has influenced the hearts of people so that what they are saying is good is actually evil, so we vote in and accept evil ways. The problem here is that God never designed governments to be run as such. He designed governmental systems to be a true theocracy where the leader hears from God’s Spirit and makes decisions by the Word of God. We have even modeled our church systems after a democratic model and it is destroying the church.
We will all experience perfect government when Jesus returns to rule and reign on earth. He is the One who will demonstrate true and total leadership in governing and ruling the entire earth. He will rule with an iron fist and in love and justice. Until that day comes, pray for your pastors, leaders, elders and political leaders.
God loves the United States of America and He is not finished with her yet. Pray for America and pray for the churches and ministries in America!
