For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, “Be removed and be cast into the sea,” and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. (Mark 11:23)
If you want to know where you will be in five years, listen to the words you are speaking today. Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. If your heart is full of anger, then you will speak out anger and usually the fruit of anger is hatred. If you speak defeat, you will be defeated. If you speak death, death will come. Whatever we speak, we attract. This is why Jesus always spoke what He heard the Father say, thus He attracted what God’s word said. When we speak God’s word to Him in prayer, we attract Him and His angels which do His word. If you are tempted to speak what you feel, first see if it violates God’s word, if it does, then don’t say it!
The enemy would love to put thoughts of doubt and sickness in our minds so that we speak those things out. We have creative power given by God. Just as God spoke the world into existence, so we speak things into existence. One of the ways that we can overcome speaking words that kill is by realizing that part of the way we love God is with the words we speak.
The greatest commandment is to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind (Mark 12:30). Loving God with our heart is loving Him with our emotions. Loving Him with all our soul is loving Him with our personality. Loving God with our strength is loving Him with our resources which are mainly time and money. Loving God with all our mind is loving Him with our thoughts and words are just spoken thoughts. So when we truly walk in a love relationship with Him, we will guard our lips from speaking idle words. The key is to have a renewed mind because that is where the source of the problem is. We are to put on the mind of Christ and have the thoughts, feelings and purposes of His heart.
The answer to claiming your mind for Christ and finding peace is studying God’s word, speaking it and being submitted to His Spirit. Allow the Holy Spirit to truly rule your life and get to know Jesus through God’s word, once you know His word then you can speak His word.
To know Him is to love Him!
