Suddenly there was a great earthquake,so that the foundations of the prison were shaken, and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed. (Acts 16:25)
When Paul and Silas were put in prison, they started singing hymns to God while they were in chains. It was the praises to God from their hearts that came from their lips, that set them free! The same is true for us today. No matter what you face in life, you have been given a right to praise and worship God which breaks strongholds and prison chains. Start to praise God because of who He is, not for what you want Him to do. Praise breaks chains spiritually and physically. Praise God through the storm. He doesn’t always remove the storm if He knows it will benefit us somehow, but He promises to be with us through it.
Start to use the beautiful honor we have to worship God. Tap into the power of praise. Depression will always accompany a storm in our life to try to discourage us from praising God. Overcome that depression by praising God. Put on the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness and lift up your voice to God. Pray in the Spirit and with understanding and magnify the Lord.
The foundation of the prison you are in, whatever it is, will start to shake as you praise the Lord. Your chains will be loosed and your road to freedom will be awaiting you because of the power of your praise!
