And it is no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers (demons), also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works. (2 Corinthians 11:14,15)
Many times what looks good will kill us. God’s word tells us to test all spirits to see if they are from God. It is evident that Satan hides himself under a cloak of beauty and half truths. Why would Satan come at us as something we would at once reject? He is a liar and a deceiver, and he does it well. I thought drugs were the answer in my life and it started innocently with a sip of alcohol, to a cigarette, to a pain killer, to cocaine, to heroine, to meth, and before I knew it, I was on a sick bed with a life threatening disease wondering how it all happened.
Life is all about choices and the devil will do all in his power to influence us so that the consequences of our choices destroy us. Satan is no light weight when it comes to bringing death and destruction to countless people. He has been around for many, many thousands upon thousands of years. He knows what he is doing. It is up to us to stay reliant upon God and walk in humility before our King.
One of the tactics Satan uses against us is the sin of pride. When we walk in arrogance and pride speaking boastful things, we open up the door to the enemy in our life. God’s word says that the Lord opposes the proud. The enemy would love to have us be in a place were we walk in spiritual pride and take on the kingdom of darkness in certain areas without consulting the Father. Jude 1:9 teaches us authority through humility when it says,”even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses, did not himself dare to condemn Satan for slander, but said, the Lord rebuke you!” We must even know that the highest of angel did not approach Satan in his own power and might, but rather through the authority of the Lord.
We must learn and know that we are totally and utterly powerless and void of authority without Jesus. We keep ourselves safe when we stay away from evil even though evil looks very pretty at times. It looked pretty to Eve in the garden, it looked pretty to Samson with Delilah ,it looked pretty to David with Bathsheba, it looked pretty to Ananias and Saphira with concealing the whole truth, but look at all the consequences that they paid for giving into the beautiful side of evil.
The Bible says that Jesus came to bring us life, and life in abundance. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Test all spirits to see if they are from God and stay away from the beautiful side of evil!
