Our Help

Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth. (Psalm 124:8)

God’s word tells us that all of our help comes from Him. He sent His Holy Spirit who is our Helper. King David declared his hope in God by saying,”I will lift up my eyes to the hills from whence comes my help, all my help comes from the Lord, the Lord who made heaven and earth.”

As we start this New Year, keep in mind that everyone you encounter is going through something in their life. Some are dealing with family problems, some with health issues, some with emotional burdens. What we see on the outside is not what is being felt on the inside. If we remember this, we will treat people differently and be able to show love in a greater way. When we realize that everyone is fighting a battle, we can become their partner instead of their adversary.

Make this year great by making right choices. Yes, I said right. I know that in this world we live in there is no longer right or wrong, but according to God there is a way that leads to life and a way that leads to death. Choose life! Choose right! Choose Jesus!

As darkenss advances in this world before our very eyes, we can be at peace having real faith in the One who has redeemed us. He Himself has overcome the world. It is not over until it is over! Do not let the enemy lie to you about your future or your present. There are great things planned for those who are faithful to Jesus till the very end. To give up now would be the tragedy of your life. Part of the reason why the devil is working overtime to destroy God’s people is because he knows his time is short, which also means our Lord is returning and we are soon going home. Plant your feet down strong and do not be moved by what is going on around you. The design of this last attack is to burn us out and make us of no use for God’s kingdom. If you know the enemy’s lies then you can be aware of his ways and face him head on through the power of Jesus. No matter what you face, you are not alone. The Lord will walk you through every trial and heartache and see you to victory!

Do not allow yourself to retreat or stop doing the good work that the Lord has called you to do. Galatians 6:9 tells us,” So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.” There is an “if” there. If we don’t give up! DO NOT GIVE UP and don’t listen to the voices who speak opposite of what the Lord has told you. If He promised you healing, then trust Him! If He told you to do something, then do it, no matter what opposition. God has placed a specific calling on your life and it is up to you to walk in that calling and obey His voice. Deuteronomy 28:1″If you fully obey the LORD your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations on earth.”

As you obey God, you are elevated higher in His eyes. This obedience is not practiced to earn God’s love or to earn salvation, it is practiced to demonstrate that we belong to Him and that we love Him. Jesus Himself told us in His Word, “If you love Me, you will obey Me.” Obedience is a fruit of love.

As we obey Him and love Him and serve Him by being His hands and feet in this world, always keep in mind that He is our very present help in trouble. Look to Him in everything
