No king is saved by the multitude of an army. A mighty man is not delivered by great strength. (Psalm33:16)
No matter what amount of earthly authority we may have, no matter how great a force of a warrior one may possess, it can not save you spiritually. No matter how much might we obtain, that strength can not deliver us. Only Jesus can set the captive free.
No amount of fighting the sexual temptations that I have dealt with ever set me free. It was the love and acceptance of Jesus that ultimately caused me to leave a 30 year lifestyle of immorality. All the years that I battled drug addiction and all the attempts to get clean through rehabs did not do it for me. It was an encounter with Jesus Christ in one evening that gave the eviction notice to the demons that once had me bound. All the countless days and nights that I fought rejection, self hatred and mental anguish in my own power and might only caused me more frustration until suicide was the only way out for me, then in one meeting with the King of kings, I experienced an acceptance that I had never known, a love so deep that it started a healing process in my soul and peace so perfect that it soothed my fragmented mind.
All of us have experienced all the pains life, sin, the flesh and Satan can bring. Breakdowns, disease, homelessness, addiction, molestation, rejection, heartache, hunger, poverty and too much more to write, but through it all we can lean on God’s Word that says,”For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.”(Hebrews 4:15)
The very place where God has placed you right now may not be comfortable but it is refining and healing up all the places that are wounded. God many times will place us under pressure that feels unbearable , only to make us into a beautiful diamond. Pressure is never pleasant but the outcome is great and over shadows the process once we are on the other side. Be of good courage dear friend and know that everything you have faced up till now will be used for good and for the calling that God has on your life. Not a day, hour, minute or second has been wasted. We all have everything to look forward to and it is all because of Jesus. Freedom is only by Jesus!
