No Greater Love

Through The CrossNo greater love than this, that a man lay down his life for a friend. (John 15:13)

Look deeper into this verse and see God’s great love. God’s great love is that He gave His life while yet we were enemies with Him. He died for a world that hated the Truth, so that we could be adopted into the family of God. There is no greater love than the love of God.

Our goal in this life is to love and live like Jesus did. In striving for that goal we need to realize that this love we are desiring to demonstrate comes from God Himself, it is not a human, faltered love. We can never reach loving like God loves without His Spirit in us. We can achieve a sense of love, an emotion that comes and goes according to the deeds of those that we are targeting our love towards, but once our target strays from what we see as good and correct, our love also strays. God’s love is eternal and does not falter. His love is perfect and constant. In order for us to walk in God’s love we must abide and live in Him always. Our very breath is dependant upon Him as His word says,”in Him we live and move and have our being.”

When we realize what God did to demonstrate His love for us, it begins a desire to serve and follow Him that can only be ignited by His love to begin with. It is all about His love that searches out our desire to know Him that is a match made in heaven! He has chosen us and in His choosing us, He also empowers us and crowns us with His glory.

If the enemy is trying to keep you down by constantly telling you that you are unworthy or if your past wounds are shouting that you are too broken to be fixed then know this one thing, God’s love reaches into the deepest dirt and heals the most painful wounds. His love goes beyond what we can even imagine. It grabs us out of the clutches of the devil and places us on thrones. It takes us from the pit and walks us into the palace. Our part in this is to reach out to Him, to desire knowing Him. When He sees our faith, His hand moves on our behalf.
