“The Lord is my portion,” says my soul. “Therefore I hope in Him!” (Lamentations 3:24)
We can rest and be at peace when we are attacked in our health or in any other area knowing that the Lord is our portion. Sometimes God will allow things in our lives that are very unpleasant in order to bring out the beauty that He sees in us. In order to get orange juice, the orange must be crushed. In order to get the fragrance so strong from a rose, the rose must be pressed until it seems to be dead. In order for us to demonstrate Jesus, we must die to the flesh.
It is no longer us that lives, but Christ that lives in us. We no longer need to allow our circumstances to control us nor are our lives caught up in ourselves but rather we are one with Him. It is apparent that when everything becomes shadow in the light of Jesus, that He restores to us all that we thought we could never have, because now those things are no longer idols to us. God is good and to be favored by Him is beyond words. He is merciful and kind and He is slow to anger.
Look to Him today and know that He is working all things out for your good if you love Him. Everyone that has a relationship with Jesus goes through seasons. There are seasons when we feel ever so close to Him and there are seasons when we feel alone even though He never leaves us. We can not walk by what we feel, we must walk by faith in Him. Regardless of our feelings, Jesus is our portion.
Say this day that the Lord is my portion and I hope in Him. Yes, He is my portion!
