if you obey the voice of the Lord your God, to keep His commandments and His statutes which are written in this book of the law, and if you turn to the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. (Deuteronomy 30:10)
So many times we turn to God in our minds, but our wills and emotions are from Him, or we try to control our wills to do good when our emotions show something different. Our mind, will and emotions make up our soul, we can not separate them. It is our soul that needs to be freed and worked on after we meet Jesus, that is where working out our salvation takes place. Jesus is after all, the Lover of our soul. Our spirit man is born again when we decide to give our lives over to Jesus and obey Him, but our soul is a work in progress.
Through the process of deliverance, a soul is made whole by Jesus our Deliverer. What I have experienced is that, parallel to our souls deliverance, our hearts are transformed if He is allowed to do so. One of the greatest miracles in life is the change of heart towards God and towards people. God wants to give His children hearts of flesh and remove the hearts of stone.
God is in the restoration business and He always succeeds at what He does. Don’t only allow God to deliver your soul but let Him give you a new heart and establish yourself in His righteousness which is in Christ Jesus. John 13:35 says,”by this everyone will know you are my disciples, if you love one another.” The only way we can love like He loves is by allowing our hearts to made new through His Spirit.
Ask God today to change the desires of your heart to what He desires. Each day ask, seek and knock. He will send the answer. He dwells inside you if you truly have given your life to Him. The change you are seeking comes from the inside out.
