And they shall fight against you; but they shall not prevail against you; for I am with you, says the Lord, to deliver you. (Jeremiah 1:19)
When dealing with constant attacks from the enemy, I would ask God, what’s up? Why this battle with no rest? He answered me and told me that my rest was in Him. Rest is not always retreating from battle, but rather being in the battle but knowing the battle is the Lord’s to fight. Apart from Him, we can do nothing. We are told that Satan is a relentless adversary. The definition of relentless is ceaseless and intense: never slackening, but continuing always at the same intense, demanding, or punishing level, persistently hostile: pursuing, attacking, or opposing somebody or something persistently and without mercy.
That is exactly how to describe how we as the body of Christ are attacked by the enemy. However, that does not mean that we are helpless. James 4:7 gives us a tactic and understanding when it says,”submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you.” Our first advance against our enemy is to submit to God or to accept and place ourselves under God’s authority and obey Him. We must then resist the devil which means to fight against somebody or something: to oppose and stand firm against somebody or something, to refuse to give in to something: to refuse to accept or comply with something , to be unharmed by something: to remain unaltered by the damaging effect of something. Then finally he will flee or run away or disappear.
This is encouraging when we break down God’s word and see all that it means for us. Be encouraged today and know that this too shall pass. What ever your “this too” is, give it to God and watch Him give you a mighty victory over the enemy in your life!
The enemy will fight against us but he will not prevail, for Jesus is here to deliver us. No matter what you are facing this day, have faith and know that the Lord will deliver you and He says to you,”I am with you!”
