His Voice

“Nevertheless, lest we offend them, go to the sea, cast in a hook, and take the fish that comes up first. And when you have opened its mouth, you will find a piece of money; take that and give it to them for Me and you.” (Matthew 17:27)

So many are running to and fro worrying for their future and wondering where is their security. How will provision come in time of need? Fear not! The key to provision is faith in God, but there is also one more key. That key is obedience. If you notice Jesus already had the answer to where the money would come from to pay their taxes. They did not have to scream or shout to God for help, they simply needed to listen to His instructions and be obedient. When they were able to remove the sting of the situation and hear God, then they could follow Him and be obedient.

So many of us don’t hear God even when we are trying to hear, because we are listening to the other noises around us fighting for our attention. We need to learn to be still and know that He is God. On the other side of obedience are the blessings. Everything we need from God is in the fish’ mouth, all we need to do is listen to Him and follow instructions. Do not allow your situation to speak louder than the answer God has sent. Everything in this life has a voice attached to it. Every sickness, every disease, every trial screams out for our attention. The voice of God whispers to us, while all others scream. His voice whispers from inside and says,”peace be still My child.”

Learn to hear the still, small voice while being yelled at by all other distractions. There will always be those other voices yelling at us, it is up to us to learn His voice. “My sheep hear My voice, and the voice of a stranger they will not follow.” Sit quiet with Jesus and listen for His voice, He is waiting for you!
