He Will Surely Repay

Highway 52 Storm Cell - Two and a Half Minutes Lightning StrikesFor the Lord is the God of recompense, He will surely repay. (Jeremiah 51:56)

Never do we need to defend or justify ourselves, nor is it our right to pay back what we feel is due to those who have hurt or wronged us. When we take matters in our own hands, things go bad. We need to make room for God to do His part in our lives. We have all we need in Jesus and as we judge so we are judged. If we live in a mode of vengeance toward the people who have harmed and hurt us, we only cause heartache to ourselves and it gives the devil an open door into our life. God’s word tells us to let God arise and let His enemies be scattered.

When we forgive all who have hurt us and release all judgments against them, we will literally see God’s recompense happen in the lives of those who were set out to destroy us. We are not to rejoice in the judgment of those people (which was a direct result of sin, whatever a man sows that shall he reap), but rather use that experience as an example for us of what not to do. We must choose to love our enemies and pray for them.

Thanks be to God for we are new creations in Christ Jesus and the good work He started in us He is faithful to complete. Know today that God is on your side and you don’t need to defend yourself. He will surely repay. Vengeance is mine says the Lord.

The most difficult part of life at times is to be like Jesus and always bless when we are cursed. To always love when we are hated. To always see the good in people and show kindness when sometimes you just want to throw a rock at someone. It is not what is thought that takes us into bondage, it is what is said and done that takes us into bondage. A thought can be erased but a spoken word can never be taken back. Matthew 12:36 says,”but I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgement for every empty word they have spoken.”

Always remember it is God who repays, we are to be carriers of mercy, not judgment. Bringers of life, not death. Agents of peace and not discord.
