The Lord shall preserve you from all evil, He shall preserve your soul. (Psalm 121:7)
God promises us that He will preserve us from all evil, however we can cause evil to come upon us through living in sin. He will still help us and redeem us from the hand of the enemy if we confess our sins and repent. God’s word tells us,”if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” There is always a way back with God. He never leaves us alone and His heart is always for us. He will preserve our minds, our wills and our emotions. He is the Lover of our soul. He is so good and there is nothing we can do that would cause Him not to love us.
Many things that we view as evil can still act as a tool working out God’s plan for our lives. At times we label something evil if it goes against our comfort or our own plans. All that we are and all that is ours should be put at the feet of Jesus as a sacrifice. Once we are dead to our selves, then how could anything possibly affect us anymore? This is why God’s word uses the phrase that we died with Him. Does a dead person react as a living person does to situations? No, so therefore when life throws sorrows and worries and heartaches at us we are to respond out of living in Jesus, not out of being alive to our flesh. This is a daily process of dying to self. Romans 6:5 says, “for we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection.”
Spend some time thinking about all the times that God has kept you from death, all the times that evil could halve attacked us yet He protected us. There are multitudes of times that He saved us that we do not even realize or know He did. Let thankfulness arise in your soul and praise His holy name for His goodness!
Be strong child of God for the Lord your God is with you and know that He and He alone preserves you.
