Harvest Of Blessing

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8-9)

God tells us that His thoughts are far greater than any of ours. Our best thinking can not compare to God’s thoughts. When we think we have figured everything out and that we have the answers, we will find out that we have fallen short. We can not trust man and that includes ourselves. Jeremiah 17:9 says,The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? Inquire of the Lord to find out what He thinks and He will show you great and mighty things which you know not of.

As our relationship with Jesus grows stronger, we start to develop the mindset of Christ Himself. We have the mind of Christ and begin to hold the thoughts, feelings and purposes of His heart. It’s so burden lifting to know that He is truly in control once we turn our life over to Him. Turning our life over to Him means that our choices are now made by His counsel. When we make decisions based on what God would have us do, we are safe, in His control. When we make decisions that are contrary to God’s will, we remove ourselves from the umbrella of God’s protection and we take our lives into our own hands. God is in control when we walk in obedience. Why else would He say that He places before us life and death, blessings and curses and then tells us to choose one. The decisions are up to us. Make good choices and watch the blessings of God overtake you. His thoughts for us are for good and not evil, for a future and a hope. God’s thoughts are high indeed. In a nutshell we can say that God has all authority but that does not necessarily mean He is in control. Control is had by God when we walk in obedience to Him.

If you are in the mode of making some major decisions, make sure you inquire of the Lord for His counsel. He will speak to you concerning what you should do and in your obedience, you will reap the harvest of blessing!
