If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:8,9)
Jesus died for the forgiveness of our sins, He is the total and final sacrifice for our sins. That does not mean that we don’t need to confess our sins. Clearly God’s word tells us that if we deny that we have sin, we are lying. The key that unlocks the door of forgiveness and healing is confession. Confessing is agreeing with God about what we have done and it is a biblical principal that has great power. When we confess our sins, not only does God hear us, but the devil hears as well. When Satan knows that we have confessed our sins, his legal rights to us are taken away, the bridges or open doors between us and demons are shut. The forgiveness by God is already there, but confession needs to be made to God always and to the person the sin was committed against if possible.
There is such freedom in forgiveness. When I forgave the man who molested me when I was a child and released all judgements against him, God started to heal my body. When I chose to forgive is when I was able to receive the forgiveness for my sins. God’s word tells us that when we forgive, we are forgiven. We have no right to hold on to unforgiveness because God has forgiven us of all our sins.
Don’t allow anything to separate you from God, confess it and watch God’s healing power and His transformation start a new work in you that He will complete. The good work He has started in you , He is faithful to complete.
Confession is good for the soul!
