“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” (2 Timothy 4:7)
There are many times in life that we hear a whisper in our ears that says,”just give up.” That whisper is the enemy of our souls. Satan desires that we throw in the towel and live in the background. We must always remember that what describes Satan best is that he is a thief, a murderer and a liar. When he fails to succeed in one of these, he tries whatever necessary to render us powerless and useless for the kingdom of God. He will tempt us to sin and if we remain in that sin then he has won a battle. Habitual sin will tangle a person in a web of sorrow, grief and loss.
The hope that we have is in Jesus Christ and the power of the cross! When Jesus overcame for us and ascended into heaven, He said that the Holy Spirit would then come to help and comfort us. We now have the indwelling power of Jesus living inside because His Spirit lives in us! We have power over sin. We no longer are a slave to sin. This is good news and a reason to rejoice. We were all once in bondage to sin and ruled by Satan but Jesus has set us free from the power of sin and death and loosened the bonds that Satan had on us!
This very day, the Lord is saying to you that you have a future and a hope. He is telling you not to believe the lies of Satan. Anything that degrades, denounces and destroys you is from the enemy of your soul. Jesus has come to give you life and life in abundance. Do not stop fighting! There is a ministry being birthed in you! You have many lives to touch and your reach will be deep and wide.
Satan’s goal for you today is to get you to the point of giving up. God’s word tells us that the enemy is relentless, so you be relentless. Relentless means that you push back, you offend your enemy to the death! No one is recognized for starting a race but there is great reward and recognition for finishing the race. Quitters never win and winners never quit!
Keep the faith, fight the good fight and finish your race!
