For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18)
Be encouraged this day and know that no matter what you are facing or what you may be battling, that there is nothing too difficult for God. When our minds are off our situations and placed on things that are pure and good and lovely, we start to see the mountains in our lives move. I want to share a miracle that happened some years ago. I went to the doctor for a follow up for a lesion on my tongue which was called leukoplakia. The doctor said we have to keep our eye on it because it’s a cancer and it is common with HIV. He said once you have it, you have it! I wasn’t worried and I remained standing on God’s word and didn’t give it attention.
The Lord showed me to take communion everyday by myself and in that I would reaffirm God’s healing power in my body, so I did. I went back to the doctor 6 months later for a checkup. When the doctor checked my tongue, he looked at me and said,” there is nothing here, I’ve never seen this before, it’s totally gone!” I sat there unamazed because I expected that to happen because God is not a liar. By His stripes we are healed.
What I want to bring forth this day is this, if God chose not to heal me or restore me, then I would still be a winner because, no matter what we face or what we go through, we are going to meet Jesus in the air as is stated in Thessalonians. God’s word is true and He is faithful. The good work He started in you, He is faithful to complete.
When the devil comes against you and puts doubt in your mind and tries to steal your hope and joy, then speak out God’s word and let the devil know that you have an everlasting home with Jesus and when the trump blows, we get to go home. Until that happens, choose to live in victory and expect God’s best for you because you are loved by Him so much. If you are feeling down today, comfort yourself with these comforting words and look forward with hope knowing that we will meet Him in the air!
