Cleansed

Who can understand his errors? Cleanse me from secret faults. (Ps.19:12)

The word of God says to let a man examine himself. Daily, we need to confess to God and clear our minds of anything that we think wasn’t pleasing to Him.This is why God gave us a conscience, to know right from wrong. It is not that we live in a state of mind that is focused on sin, but rather a state of heart that is focused on repentance. Daily and every night, I have learned to ask Jesus that if I did, said or thought about anything that wasn’t pleasing to Him, to show me so that I would repent from it. We are constantly being cleansed by the blood of Jesus and confession of our faults to Him opens the door to forgiveness and healing.

We are not insulting God if we ask Him to forgive us of anything that displeases Him. Think of it as a parent, how precious and kind to know that a child would honor their mother or father by asking for forgiveness for anything that the child did that was not pleasing to their parents. It shows the state of the childs heart. Pride will prevent the lifestyle of repentance and exposing ones faults. It brings to mind the old hymn. What can wash away my sins? Nothing but the blood of Jesus!

When we lose our simplicity with God, we complicate the very relationship that should be child like with Him. It is even written in the book of Matthew to come to God as a little child, meaning simple and unchained by theological man made burdens and doctrines. Man makes knowing Jesus so difficult. All Jesus said was to come to Him just as we are and believe,(which includes obedience), and follow Him and His ways. His Spirit cleans us up, heals us and makes us whole.

There are many, many times in a Christian’s life that God seems silent and signs are not visible at all. Does that mean we don’t believe? Absolutely not! In certain times of our lives in our walk with the Lord silence is necessary. Faith and trust in God are built through hardship and quietness. It takes greater faith to stand on God’s word when He is silent, then when we hear Him loud and clear. Some of the greatest moments with Jesus are in times of solice with Him in the dark. It is in the dark night that we can hear the heartbeat of the Lord and His whisper say,”remember child that you are cleansed.”
