“However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.” (Matthew 17:21)

There are many avenues to be delivered from demons, but there is only one source, Jesus! Some are cast out, some are rebuked, some leave at salvation, some leave at baptism, some leave when you least expect it. There is no one formula but there is only one Deliverer.

God frees us how He sees fit. Every Believer should go through the process of deliverance however after I went through deliverance there were still things I needed freedom from that God dealt with quite differently. One way He set me free was while I was asleep while another way was in prayer. When things aren’t changing and you have exhausted all your options then pray and fast. When we starve the flesh, our spirit is quickened to hear God clearer. There are specific spirits sent by Satan to hinder our hearing from God, these are called hindering spirits. God always desires to talk and meet with us but we must be willing to talk and meet with Him. This is where prayer and fasting comes in the most. We have a partnership with God and our free will is present to choose life or death. When we starve our flesh, it is a type of death that makes our spirit man cry out to God.

Seek His will for your situation, inquire of the Lord. Maybe He wants from you some prayer and fasting. If there is a certain stronghold in your life that you just can’t seem to overcome, it is likely the work of a demonic force present that may have been inherited through the family bloodline. We have all authority over these forces of darkness through the blood of Jesus! Pray to the Father, fast and break the stronghold with the power that Jesus gave to you. We have God’s own Spirit dwelling inside of us which gives us the power to overcome!
2 Corinthians 2:14,”But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place.”
