In that day the Branch of the Lord shall be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and appealing for those of Israel who have escaped. (Isaiah 4:2)
The Branch of the Lord is a Messianic reference to Jesus, and when we see Him we will be like Him. We will be beautiful and glorious. The world will see the mature church in action for and through Jesus the Lord. We are the soon to be ready bride. The fruit that we bare shall be excellent and appealing to those who encounter us. The Church will no longer be seen as a weak representative for God, but rather a fully developed, powerful love filled body of Christ in the earth doing His will. This gives us hope in the scripture that says,”I know the plans I have for you says the Lord, plans for a future and a hope, for good and not evil.”
The here and now is temporal. We are inheriting eternity. As we keep our eyes focused on all that God has done for us, we get a glimpse of heaven and lose the despair of this present time that seeks to get our attention.
One of the reasons the Church seems to be lacking power is loss of intimacy with Him. The more we include Him in our everyday life and decisions, the closer we feel His presence. There is another reason why things look so bleak and that is that the enemy knows that his time is short and he has amped up his attack on the Saints. Keep in mind that whatever plans the enemy has for us, we can counter those with God’s word knowing that God’s plans will succeed. Our part in this is to keep the faith and know that we are not alone. If we take our eyes off of Jesus and place it on our situation, we will sink in the water of our storm just like Peter did. Stay focused and faith filled.
Rejoice, the Branch of the Lord shall be beautiful and glorious and you are part of His great plan!
