And suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep. (Matthew 8:24)

The ultimate example to follow in hard times is Jesus. Just as the waves covered the boat all those years ago, so do trials, tribulations and waves cover this boat we call our lives. Know this day that your life is hidden in Him and we have nothing to fear. To know that through the tumult, Jesus was fast asleep, shows us that through the times in our lives that look unbearable, we can peacefully rest in Him.

I have learned to be still and know that He is God and to cast all my cares upon Him for He cares for me. To cast something is to demand in full authority for it to leave and be sent somewhere specific. Our cares are to be specifically sent to Jesus, for His heart longs for us. Whatever tempests arise in the sea of your life, and if you feel you are being overcome by wave after wave, sleep peacefully as He did and trust in Him. How we learn to do this is through an intimate relationship with Jesus by prayer and studying His word. If we have no prayer life and we do not take time to learn who Jesus is, then we will have nothing to draw from when hard times come. Deposit into your heavenly bank account now so that when a withdrawal needs to be made from heaven, your account doesn’t show up as Non Sufficient Funds. The deposits made in your heavenly account will be multiplied with interest, we just need to give God something to work with!
