Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Where were you when the morning stars sang together and all the sons of God shouted for joy? Have you commanded the morning since your days began? Have you entered the springs of the sea? Have the gates of death been revealed to you? Have you entered the treasury of snow? (Job 38:4,7,12,16,17,22)

For years I had asked God why was I molested? Why was I raised with a sick mother? Why did I battle homosexuality? Why was I a drug addict? Why did I have depression and  mental torment? Why did I contract HIV? Why had my life been horrible? Why had I never been successful? Why did people I trust hurt me? Why did I have to be tortured by demons for years? Why,why, why???  With strength, God revealed to me and said,” Michael, where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Where were you when the morning stars sang together and all the sons of God shouted for joy? Have you commanded the morning since your days began? Have you entered the springs of the sea? Have the gates of death been revealed to you? Have you entered the treasury of snow?” Humbly, I realized that surely God is, was and has been in control of my life. He didn’t cause bad to happen, but He has certainly used it for His glory and my good. I am who I am today because God has seen me through and He has created a mighty warrior for Himself in me.

In our lives we may not be able to control the things that have happened to us, but He is able to turn everything out for our good. Whatever your past may be, whatever your present time is manifesting and whatever your future holds, know that if you love Him and follow Him that He works it all out for your good. We don’t have all the answers and we weren’t there when God created everything and when the stars sang , but this one thing we do know, if God be for us, then who can be against us?

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on  your own understanding. He has it all in His hands and He is in control. When we make wise decisions in our lives, but yet still things happen that are not what we thought should happen, rest in His peace and security. God has your back!
