And the Lord restored Job’s losses when he prayed for his friends. Indeed the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before. (Job 42:10)
There is a secret here. God did not restore to Job what he had lost and then some because he deserved it. God restored to Job because in time of dire need, Job reached outward to help others. Prayer is not a time to constantly tell God what He needs to do for us, but it is a time of sharing love with Him and speaking His word to Him and lifting up others in need.
One could find out what is in a persons heart by hearing what they speak. Prayer time should start with thanksgiving and praise to God. Prayer is an essential part of our walk with God. God is not looking for mandated time with Him, He desires intimacy with those He loves. He also desires that we pray for others and bless those who curse us. As we walk out our salvation in these last days, make it a priority to pray for your family, friends and all those who God brings to mind.
God is restoring what the enemy has stolen and then some. Just like Job did, pray for your friends and your enemies as well, and be satisfied with what God has given you. Know this, if we keep looking for the other side of the rainbow, we will miss the blessing on the side we are on now.
God’s love for us is so great and His mercies are new every morning. Speak God’s blessings over those who surround you and watch the blessings that shower you!
