Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands you sinners, and purify your hearts you double minded. (James 4:8)
When I decided after 23 years of running from God to run to Him, I was amazed at how quickly pain and sorrow fell off me. I was amazed at how much God came towards me. You can never out run God. Once I ran after God, I also realized that my heart needed to be purified because of all the evil I had allowed in it. When I went through the process of deliverance and I was set free from demonic strongholds, I was in awe of how my mind, which always was half in the world and half in God, was brought to a straight path. I was no longer double minded. I had learned to put on the mind of Christ and what joy that brings. Being healed of a double mind was one of the most powerful miracles in my life.
Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. You no longer have to believe the devil’s lie that your mind can not be made whole. Through Jesus, you no longer need to be double minded!
The key that set the process of freedom moving in my life was repentance. Repentance is a topic not many talk about in these days. It is a taboo subject. Without holiness no man can see God. We have so many preaching today that sin is no longer an issue and that we never need to confess our sins. This is a lie! The enemy is speaking through so many in these last days to confuse the church. Read God’s word. Throughout His word there are warnings about sin and the consequences of sin. God still judges sin because He is a just God.
Jesus has given us access to the Father and He has given us His Holy Spirit so that we can be empowered to walk a holy life. Before Jesus came to earth, we did not have His Spirit dwelling in us, but now we do. Through His indwelling Spirit we have the power to overcome sin. His grace empowers us not to live in sin!
There were times in my walk were I found myself falling back into my old ways. The difference now was that no matter how far my mind strayed away, repentance took place immediately. There was great conviction with change following to walk right before God again. Life is not about not falling, it is about falling and getting back up and getting to the point in your walk where you no longer fall into the trap of enemy in your life where your weakness is. No one is perfect. Find someone you trust to confess your faults to so that you may be healed. Seek a holy life before God and do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways but through Jesus we can be Christ minded. That is the true goal, to be Christ minded!
