“We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God.” (Acts 14:22)
Going through suffering does not gain you access to the kingdom of God but rather persecution is a close companion to those entering God’s kingdom. Look at all the tribulations the many martyrs went through in the Bible. Many were stoned, crucified, boiled in oil, beaten, imprisoned and beheaded for the gospel of Jesus.
Jesus never told us that following Him would be easy, but He did tell us to count the cost. When you fall in love with Him you then realize that you can do all things through Him. You can face the giant, you can run through a troop and leap over a wall, you can endure all things, you can be content abaste and abound and you can even look death in the face knowing that the Redeemer lives!
If you are facing homelessness, death, addiction, disease, famine, loneliness, emptiness, oppression, rejection, foreclosure, failure, mental torment, hopelessness or any other tribulations in your life, know that you are not alone. You will make it to the other side! Your testing time is not forever. You will get through this victoriously if you trust Jesus to carry you through.
Your greatest teachings in this life come through tribulations. In the time of testing grab onto Jesus like never before and know that He has you hidden in Him. Call on His name, He will be with you through many tribulations. Jesus is the Friend that sticks closer than a brother. Family will fail, friends will fail, governments will fail, ministries will fail, but Jesus never fails!
