Shepherds After My Own Heart

The Good ShepherdAnd I will give you shepherds according to My heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding. (Jeremiah 3:15)

As a child growing up I was placed in the care of many different shepherds that represented Jesus. All of them failed to do what God had called them to do. I looked to them as the final say, as God Himself and I abandoned God because I blamed Him for what wrong was done to me. I received the revelation that Jesus loved those shepherds just as He loves me and I needed to forgive and release all the judgments I had against them because it was keeping them in bondage as well as I. The enemy was having a field day with all that had happened in my past and I refused to let it happen any longer. Now I am compassionate on all who have hurt me because I realize they were being controlled by a force other than God and they needed deliverance just as I did.

It is amazing the level of love and forgiveness that is attained when you search your own heart instead of accusing and judging those that have wronged you. God has set me free and has given me a testimony that is far above what I could ask or think. In the process He has given me shepherds after His own heart to help guide and instruct me and I have learned more in the past few years than I have in the previous forty.

Every pain we go through, every heartache we endure, every suffering we walk out are all designed to bring us to a place of total surrender. It is when we surrender to God, that great things happen. When we look to man as our final authority, we will always fall because man always fails. We as the body of Christ have the greatest and perfect of all sheperds. He is Jesus, the good Sheperd. Look to Him for all you need, all you desire and give Him all your love.
