Who redeems your life from destruction; who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies. (Psalm 103:4)
The definition of crowned is a top-ranking title: a title or distinction that signifies victory or supreme achievement. We are crowned because of what Jesus has done for us. Jesus has redeemed us through His shed blood from destruction. We have been snatched out of Satan’s kingdom into Jesus’ marvelous light. This has been done for us, but we must be in agreement with what Jesus has done by living for Him in obedience. Jesus said in John 14:15,” if you love Me, you’ll obey Me and keep My commandments”. I have seen the results of obeying Him because I have been crowned with His lovingkindness and it is truly better than life. His tender mercies have overtaken me. I am forever grateful for His great love and deliverance. When life seems everything but good, remember what He has done!
He purchased us back from destruction. We were all on our way to an eternity apart from God and He went to the utmost to buy us back so that we could be part of His family. God is all about family. He wanted a great family of many, many children. Jesus was the One who made this happen. In Revelation 5:4,5 it says,” and I wept and wept because there was found no one in heaven to open the books. Then one of the Elders said to me,” Do not weep, see the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the root of David has triumphed. He is able to open the scrolls and the seven seals.” What this is saying is that no other person, no angel, no cherub, no seraph, no other being could have done what Jesus has done for us. What is even more amazing is that He didn’t have to do what He did. He wasn’t mandated. He volunteered because of His love for the Father. Jesus saw the Father’s love for us, and that love promoted Jesus to come to earth for us. O how He loves us. When the enemy tries to discourage you, always remember and remind the devil that we, God’s children, have been crowned with lovingkindness and tender mercies!
