The Curse Is Broken

God is raising up a people to act on what Jesus did for us on the cross. The Word tells us that Jesus became a curse for us on the cross, for it says that any one who hangs on a tree is accursed. In family blood lines there are generational curses carried down to many generations. The Bible tells us that the sins of the fathers are visited  to the third and fourth generation. Many people believe that because they are saved that the curses on their families don’t apply because that is Old Testament. We need to keep in mind that just like salvation, we have to receive what Jesus did for us and work it out. It goes the same for the breaking of generational curses. Yes, it is finished and done but we must receive and act on that promise. If it were as simple as speaking that the curse is broken, then why do Christians still deal with diseases inherited through the bloodline? Because the sin is being visited to the next generation. A curse needs to be broken and the demonic force attached to that curse needs to be cast out. Jesus has given us all we need from the cross to deal with these curses, but we must act out God’s word through deliverance and walk out a godly life.

While it is true that all of us sin because we still live in earthly bodies, we can strive to live a life that pushes the enemy away rather than draws him to us. Habitual, non repentant sin still opens the door to the demonic in our lives. That is why sickness, disease and mental bondage are so prevalent in Christians. It is not the only reason but it is a big one. Jesus Himself said that the god of this world (Satan) is coming, but He has nothing in me. Jesus was sinless.

Keeping away from all appearances of evil may not be easy but it is something we work towards. Let what you say glorify God. Let what you hear edify your mind. Let what you touch not defile you. Let what you see not open doors of sensuality. Let your senses, which is part of your soul, not be tainted by evil. Through being delivered by the power of Jesus, the curse is broken. Deliverance is a process not a once in a lifetime experience.

God wants us to take back former family destinies that were desolated and repair all the wasted years and time that was stolen from us and from our past generations. God is restoring, rebuilding and renewing all that was lost and spent. Our part in this is to receive what He is doing, act on His word and live a sanctified life unto Him, knowing that sanctification is a process and there are ups and downs in that process.

What has plagued your family line? What curse needs to be broken off you so that you and your children and your children’s children can walk freely in the time we have on this earth? Whatever it may be, Jesus paid the price for our freedom. Let’s act on what He did and obtain our freedom!
