Looking Unto Jesus

1cross+3nails=4givenLooking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. (Hebrews 12:2)

What a friend we have in Jesus. When we encounter the storms that we face in this life, we must remember that the One who quieted the storm is with us. He will never leave us nor forsake us. He started our faith and it is He who will finish it. Our lives are truly in His hands and when we mess up, know that if we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

We do not lose our salvation every time we sin but living in a constant state of sin is a sign that there is something immature in our relationship with God. When we come to Christ, our lives are transformed but that doesn’t mean we are perfect. The commencement of a relationship with Jesus is the beginning of a changed life. The Holy Spirit starts to work in us to mold and make us into the image of God’s Son in the earth. We are not beaten down when we fall nor cast away when we sin.  The fruit we produce in our lives will demonstrate who we serve. Fruit of God’s Spirit are love, joy, peace, long suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. The opposite fruit are hatred, anxiety, short tempered, meanness, no loyalty, harshness, lust based relationships and bad attitudes. Check the fruit in your life to see where your relationship with God stands. Struggling with some of these bad fruit does not define your relationship with God but living comfortably with these fruit and not trying to change is a definite sign that there is a problem. God has given us the ability to produce good fruit, it is up to us who we will follow. Follow the One who is God, the only true God. Follow Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith.
