My soul melts for heaviness, strengthen me according to Your Word. (Psalm 119:28)

God never said life would be easy. Clearly David says that his soul melts due to this life and the cares of it. God does however gives us strength to be victorious through this life. The strength we obtain and receive is through God’s Spirit. Ephesians 3:16 tells us,”I pray that out of his glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being.”

God’s very own Spirit strengthens us to walk through this life with all its tribulations and heartache. We are never alone. The Holy Spirit knows every inner working of the deepest parts of us. In order to know who the Holy Spirit is and what He does, we must study the word of God. 2 Timothy 2:15, “Study the word to show yourself approved, a workman not ashamed rightfully dividing the Word of Truth.” Study in this verse translates as rehearse. We are to go over the word of the Lord time and time again until it deposits in our spirit man!

The greatest way you can have victory in your life over sin, situations and tribulation is knowing God’s word and applying it personally. When we face giants in our life, we have access to the very thing that destroys our enemies which is God’s word. God’s word is of no use to us if we do not speak and apply it. If we have a gun in our home and someone tries to break in, we have to use it in order to see the effect.  It is the same with God’s word. Remember Jesus Himself came against Satan with God’s word, He did not fight him in the flesh. God’s word is a sword that destroys and demolishes principalities and powers as we speak it. The angels even do God’s word as we speak it, according to Psalm 103:20, “Praise the LORD, you angels, you mighty ones who carry out His plans, listening for each of his commands.

God has placed us in a position of authority by having His very word live within us. As you walk through life, use God’s word every day and in every way to diminish the devil’s influence and allow heaven to invade earth. Do as Jesus did and speak what the Father told Him to speak, which was His word.
