So Let It Go!

Old BibleFor I am not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation. (Romans 1:16)

Many times when we come to Jesus, we are ashamed to lift our hands or speak of His wonderful deeds. We carry shame concerning our past and what the Lord has brought us from but Jesus took our shame on the cross so that we would have His peace and joy. Hebrews 12:2 says,”looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him He endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the Son of God.” We need to realize that Jesus was naked on the cross and that the shame that once covered us from past hurts, abuse and sin, was placed upon Him so that we can walk in freedom and with no shame. Our shame was literally placed on Him so that we would inherit freedom. If you are carrying shame with you this day, ask the Holy Spirit to deeper reveal what Jesus has done for you so that your shame can be dissolved and done away with. He desires so much that you walk in freedom and with no shame attached to you.

When I returned home to the Father after decades of being trapped in addictions, bondage, sorrow and pain, I was covered in shame. I would ponder in my mind, “how will I ever be able to be freed from this heavy burden of shame?” After years of prayer, tears and counseling, I realized that my shame had been undone at the Cross. The Cross was the remedy for my shame and for your shame. Jesus wore my shame for everything I would ever do wrong in my entire life. He carried the shame of all my past sins, my present sins and my future sins, He bore it all. It finally made sense to me. I  no longer want to carry something so heavy that Jesus paid a great price for to remove.

Remember that we are all works in progress and we are being made into the image of Jesus daily, none of us have arrived. Seek God and all that He has for you and in that seeking, layer after layer of healing and deliverance will be attained as you focus on the Healer and Deliverer. Get excited about what God has planned for you as you walk into the next season of your life. Doors are being opened for you in your life and the Lord wants you to walk into your destiny with no shame attached to you because of what He has accomplished on the cross!

Whatever you have done, whatever you may do or whatever you will do in the future that may cause shame, always keep in mind that Jesus already bore it. He removed your shame, so let it go!
