The sorrows of death compassed me, the pains of Hell got hold upon me. I found trouble and sorrow. Then I called upon the name of the Lord. O Lord I beseech you, deliver my soul. (Psalm 116:3&4)
Brought back to my remembrance today was the feeling of sorrow and despair when death was breathing on me. I knew I was headed to Hell and it grabbed me. I was seeking a way out of my pain and suffering through a life of drugs and dark sin. I found nothing more than trouble and sorrow. I loved God, but I was too deep in the enemy’s lies to understand truth. In spite of where I was, I called upon Jesus, and He delivered my soul, my mind, will and emotions with life and hope. What God can do is limitless. His love knows no boundary, His peace has no borders and His delivering arm has no shortness of length. Jesus wants to be your all in all. I can shout from the rooftops that Jesus has truly delivered this soul.
The name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous run into it and they are safe. When we are facing horrible situations, pain, suffering, torment or any other tribulation, we have the precious gift of running into the arms of Jesus. His compassion, love and mercy are the balm that covers, penetrates and heals us. There is never a time when He is not available and He is always on time. He has proven Himself over and over again to be faithful.
Take some time today and tell Jesus how you feel about Him. Give Him glory that is due His name for He is worthy. We get so caught up in our own stuff that many times we forget to even acknowledge and praise Him. He is always present to catch a moment with you in secrecy. He is always glancing at you and so in love with the one He died for. Whatever your day has in store, include Jesus and focus on the Creator rather than the constant influx of this and that that usually take center place in your life.
He is always with you and me to deliver our souls!
