A Good Work In You

Staring Without MovingHe who started a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus. (Philippians 1:6)

Never do we need to worry or fear that we do not meet up to unattainable expectations. Our salvation is not from our works but of the finished work of Jesus. It is not because of anything we can do that saves us. It is what Jesus has done on the cross that we are given free access to the Father. Unless the Lord build the house we labor in vain and Jesus has certainly labored for us to have such a great salvation.

Once this relationship with Jesus is started, a process of freedom begins. Through deliverance, chains are broken, family patterns or curses are crushed and our mind starts to be molded into the mind of Christ. We start to think like He thinks, love like He loves and do as He does. This change does not happen at once but rather through our lifetime. We begin to work out our salvation with fear and trembling. The changes that we have always desired to see, start to unfold. The fruit of the Spirit start to ripen in our lives such as love, joy, peace and long suffering. Our desires turn into His desires, our dreams, His dreams.

The moment we believe in Jesus as the only begotten Son of God and that God raised Him from the dead, a seed is planted deep within us. That seed takes root and begins to grow and that is when we know by faith that He who has started a good work in us will faithfully and completely see to it that it is finished!

In you and I, He has started a good work and the good work He started, He is faithful to complete. Do not allow the enemy to lie to you and draw you to believe that because you may be weak in certain areas that you are not saved. Jesus didn’t come for those who were righteous, He came for those who were lost. Do not grow weary, do not be discouraged. He is faithful and He has certainly begun a good work in you!

Many times as followers of Jesus we walk through seasons of trials that test our faith. Even in our failures and falls we can learn about God’s mercy and grace. If God were to leave us in the seasons that we fail Him, then His Word would not be true. He promised never to leave us or to forsake us. Trust His Word and know He will see you through!!
