The Living Word

Then the word of the Lord came to Solomon. (1Kings 6:11)

The Word of God is alive and powerful. The Word of God is Jesus Himself. In order for the Word of God to come to Solomon, it had to have had a life of its own. Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life! The bible says that in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was God and with God. It also says that He sent His Word which is Jesus. The Word of God is not a book but rather a living, life filled part of the Trinity who is Jesus. All things were created through the Word, who is Jesus. When you read God’s Word, allow it to settle in your spirit and bring you life.

2 Timothy 2:15 tells us, “study the word to show yourself approved, a workman not ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

In order to know the word, we must study or rehearse the word. Like in any relationship, it takes time and intimacy to strengthen and grow. It is the same with Jesus. There are many things which must die in order for life to come forth. The flesh must be crucified daily, the enemy must be fought daily, the mind must be taken captive daily. This is called spiritual warfare and warfare is learned, not inherited. Judges 3:2 tells us that God Himself causes us to learn warfare when it says,”He did this to teach warfare to generations of Israelites who had no experience in battle.” The good thing is that we have the Holy Spirit living in us to help and teach us. We are never alone and the living word is with us to guide us.

Start to take time out to get to know Jesus through studying His word and asking the Holy Spirit for guidance and understanding. You will be amazed at the rate of growth that happens once you decide to open yourself up to a greater relationship with the King!

It’s all about relationship!
