If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.(2 Chron 7:4)
There is so much in this verse and it pertains today to America. First, God said that if His people would humble themselves, not the world. The state of our country and it’s future is tied into our prayers and humility. The word wicked in this verse means nothing more than “twisted ways” or perverted ways. Our country needs deliverance from a perverted spirit. Notice that God says, then He will hear from heaven. Remember back to Daniel when He prayed and the angel said that Daniel’s prayers were heard, but the answer was being stopped from coming to him because there was war in the heavens. Even before that the scriptures state that God heard Daniel’s prayer when Daniel decided to humble himself. Humility and God hearing our prayers are woven together. God opposes the proud. The Bible calls Satan, the prince of the power of the air, he resides in the heavens of the earth,(that is his place). There was a war waged by satanic powers trying to stop the answers from reaching Daniel, but then it says that Michael the Archangel helped, and the evil powers were overcome.
There are many evil powers at work and if we don’t rid ourselves of wicked ways, then the demonic powers are strengthened through our sins and disobedience. The Bible says that the angels harken to the voice of God through us, as we speak His word. When we repent from wickedness, the demons lack the power to stop God’s answers from getting to us and the angels are empowered to do God’s Word.
When we remove God from our schools by banning prayer, we open a floodgate for the kingdom of darkness to reign where God once did. When we allow our unborn children to be murdered for the sake of convenience, we destroy our future. The very babies that are being murdered day after day are the very souls that God had chosen to invent great ideas and come up with cures for diseases. As we follow the ways of darkness, we are putting an end to our own future. Tomorrow is in God’s hands, but if we take tomorrow in our hands by our lust for murder and evil, then what ever the outcome is will be of our own doing.
The key to this is the church rising first to repent and turn to God. Judgment begins in the house of the Lord, not the world. Believers need to side with righteousness. Many churches are in agreement with abortion and same sex marriage and do not call out sin as God has commanded us to do. If we see horror in the world and things that we detest, we must first look at our own lives and see what needs to be changed so that we will be walking in God’s ways rather than opposing them. God wants to heal our land, but first repentance must come.
In this upcoming year, ask God to bring a mighty spirit of repentance upon the church so that she will rise to the occasion and bring healing to a lost and dying world. This coming year is the year that brings restoration to America. God’s heart is for restoration and peace but that can only come if people’s hearts are turned toward God. I myself have experienced God using His judgment upon me to bring me to a place of restoration.
Lord God hear our prayer and restore America to her greatness through You and You alone. Open up heavens windows and pour out a spirit of repentance to cleanse us and draw us closer to You. Father, please have mercy on Your people and America, dear Lord have mercy!
