Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom. (2 Corinthians 3:17)
O the joy of being born and raised in freedom. Freedom can only be obtained through God’s Spirit. The reason why America has enjoyed such great freedom in the past is because God has been invited and accepted to be the God of America. The reason why we as a country have been losing our freedom is because we have chosen to reject God and His ways. We have embraced murdering unborn babies, we have accepted immorality in all types of ways, we have abandoned the commands and statutes of the Lord which are eternal. If we look back through history we have examples of nations that have departed from God and suffered the consequences. Israel herself, God’s chosen people were even punished and scattered because they left their first love.
Let’s see what Galatians 5:13&14 says about freedom,”You my brothers were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge in sinful acts, rather serve one another in love. The entire law is summed up in one single command, love your neighbor as yourself.”
We have obviously turned our back on the Law of God by saying it is no longer valid. Jesus Himself proved that we can live a life that is holy unto God. He is our greatest example and we can do as He did because His Spirit lives in us. Instead of us seeking out the signs and wonders only, let us first accomplish the foundational works of obedience to God’s commands. If we find it hard to love one another then what is the use of seeking the dead to be raised or the lame to walk? God does everything decently and in order and so should we.
When we as the body of Christ walk in true love and obedience, we will see our country turn around. It is up to us to usher in a great move of God. 2 Chronicles 7:14 tells us this truth,”If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, I will forgive their sins and I will heal their land.”
God is not finished with America! He has a final great outpouring like never seen on earth before and America is part of that outpouring. In order for us to be the part that outpouring, let us walk in obedience and enjoy the freedom that obedience brings!
