Our Safety In Him

“He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the plague that destroys in midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.” (Psalm 91:4-7)

The promise of this Psalm is only obtained through a condition. This condition is if we dwell in God’s secret place. How do we dwell in His secret place? Through relationship, obedience and faith with Him and in Him. Many, many times in my life, both recent and past, I have faced terrible reports from doctors, grim messages from those that I love and heartbreaking pain due to painful circumstances. Each time these came to me, my first reaction was to fear or dread the inevitable. The life that I now live is a life of running to Jesus with all and everything that concerns me or would worry me. I have learned through trial and error that God’s word applies to every aspect of  life. Our Father is interested in all the tiny and big parts of our lives. His concern goes beyond our comprehension. He is with us when we laugh and when we cry, when we are sad and when we are joy filled.

When He said He would never leave us nor forsake us, He meant just that! There are many times when situations arise and are allowed in our lives to polish us and turn us ever more into the image of Christ, but that does not mean God has left us as orphans. Just the contrary should be observed, for those who He loves, He chastens.

Be strong and of good courage and be comforted in knowing that the very trials you are going through are the same trials that many of our brothers and sisters are experiencing right now along with you. Stand strong and believe God’s word and be still and know that He is God. There is no virus, no bacteria, no disease, no calamity or no obstacle thrown at you by Satan that is greater than God. There is nothing now, nor ever was or ever will there be anything that is bigger than our God. Stand on His promises and goodness and believe that your safety is in Him!
