It Is Well

I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread. (Ps.37:25)

No matter what we go through in life, we must keep in mind that we are children of the great King over all the earth. He is our Provider and we will never beg for bread. He feeds the birds of the air, He will surely tend to His children’s needs. This does not mean however that we will not go through hard times. It is in those hard times of trials that God shows Himself strong and pours out His provision in abundance. It was in the prison that Joseph learned what he needed to sit on the throne in Egypt. It was on the cross that Jesus suffered and died so that we might live, and so it is in our trials that seem so heavy that we are learning the keys to unlock prison doors for others.

All things work out for the good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. Every pain, every heartache, every ailment, everything! God doesn’t cause bad things but He certainly uses them. He is in control and we are in His hands. Throughout God’s word, the enemy has always tried to deliver the final blow to so many. Satan had all the male babies killed in Egypt but Moses still survived and God used him to free the Hebrews. Satan had all the male babies killed again when Jesus was born but Jesus made it through to give all of humanity the chance to have eternal life. Paul was imprisoned and beaten which was motivated by Satan’s fury, yet he survived to finish the call of God on his life and he wrote much of the New Testament.

We can go on and on with people in the Bible that experienced the wrath of the enemy, yet God saw to it that those people reached their calling in this life. We may go through heartache and sorrow but that does not mean we are defeated. Jesus was the ultimate example of a life that was surrendered to the Father’s will. He was crucified, mocked and naked when He died, but when He arose on the 3rd day, He was glorified and perfected and now sits at the right hand of the Father.

Keep in mind the old song,”whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say, it is well, it is well with my soul”
