A Road In The Wilderness

Do not remember the former things nor consider the things of old. Behold I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.(Isa.43:18,19)

When God brings us to a new place in our spiritual growth, He will also give us the daily bread we need. It is our job to eat that bread. We can not rely on yesterday’s bread for today’s nourishment. The former things have passed and a new thing is springing forth. Our devotion and prayer yesterday needs to be enforced by our devotion and prayer today.

The definition of wilderness is a neglected or abandoned area. When God brings us into neglected or abandoned areas, He promises never to leave us. He brings us into those places so that those very places would flourish with the life that is dwelling within us. In the places of wilderness of our lives He will always make a road for us to follow. Remember that the steps of a righteous man are ordered by the Lord. With that road, He also makes rivers for us to drink from and to swim in the plenty of His love and grace.

Fear not for the Lord is with you to deliver you and comfort you. In dark, uninhabited and neglected places, He makes a way where there seems to be none and the obstacle we think is our death, becomes the very avenue God uses to mold and make us into the image of His Son. Wherever you are on your journey with Jesus, He will make for you a road in the wilderness, just trust Him!
