So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and His glory from the rising of the sun; when the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.(Isa. 59:19)

God’s people are assured their enemies will be met with the irresistible power of His Spirit. Whatever your enemy is, partner with God and watch His salvation. Many times we entertain enemies without realizing what we are doing. We say it is fine to watch a movie that is sexual or there is nothing wrong with watching people being murdered on television, we fall asleep and have a dream of something ungodly and ask why? When we open the door, the devil will come in like a flood! It is up to us to keep that door closed.

Thank God that when we do fall short that Jesus is always there to protect and defend us and forgive us when we repent. Let us stay partners with God at all times and remain steadfast. We serve a God who partners with us and in that partnering we can say that,” I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!”

When we fear the name of the Lord, we revere Him to the point that we will stay away from all that would be offensive to Him. We flee from all appearances of evil and we strive to be holy like He is holy. This is not labors of law but rather labors of love. It is our love for Him that causes us to do right before Him. Fearing God because of who He is keeps us walking clean before Him. Walking clean before Him keeps us from danger and sorrow. Only the blood of Jesus washes us in God’s eyes for salvation, but once we know Him, our good works will follow.
