When the wicked came against me to eat up my flesh, my enemies and foes, they stumbled and fell! (Ps.27:2)
All my life when spiritual enemies have come against me to destroy me, they have stumbled and fell. We wrestle not against flesh and blood. People are not our enemies although it seems that way. Remember many are the afflictions of the righteous but the Lord sees us out of them all. We are given an assurance of victory through our trials and battles. If God is for us, who can be against us? No matter what giant you are facing, use God’s word like David did to slay it! We are more than conquerors through Him who loves us. No one said this life would be easy but Jesus tells us to be of good courage for He has overcome this world.
So many have been fighting spiritual battles for years, those battles could be addictions or a sickness or poverty, whatever it is, keep fighting. The one who gives up the fight is the one who loses the battle! Sometimes spiritual enemies remain in our lives to teach us how to fight. It was so for Israel.
Let’s look at what it says in Judges 3:1&2 “Now these are the nations which the Lord left to war against Israel, that is, all in Israel who had not previously experienced war in Canaan; It was only that the generations of the Israelites might know and be taught war, at least those who previously knew nothing of it.”
So we see here that God will at times keep enemies opposing us for our own good. Even in that, it is He who helps us to fight. During your warfare speak out Psalm 18:39,”You armed me with strength for battle; You have subdued my enemies under my feet.”
Keep fighting until your enemies are subdued. Jesus is with you!
