In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul. (Psalm 94:19)

When fear of the unknown creeps behind to engage our soul with worry, and when seeing all fail around and the hills melt like wax and the earth quake, we can run to the comfort of God. It is His comfort that causes us to say that it is well with my soul. In the world that we live in there is worry, sickness, failure and calamity, but we can rejoice for He surrounds us with favor as with a shield. God is for us and we are to be anxious for nothing. Whatever the future holds we must keep in mind that He has our best in His heart and He will never leave us nor forsake us. This can also be better translated as,” I will never abandon you or reject you.” Jesus is physically in heaven but His Spirit resides in those who know and follow Him.

How we can tap into His Spirit in an even deeper way is through spending time communicating with Him. As in any relationship, communication is  key. The more time we spend with someone we love, the more we get to know them and everything about them. It is the same with Jesus. Take time today to tell Him you love Him for He alone is the Lover of your mind, your will and your emotions. His Spirit in you will bring you comfort and peace through every tribulation and every trial!
